Information about
the Function
The UMI function is involved in the development phase of the
product, in terms of designing product installation and upgrade strategy in
standalone and high availability setups.
This position involves carrying out the test activities for
installation/upgrade procedures developed in the UMI function.
Education
Bachelor of Engineering/MCA/MSc/BSc(Computer Science) or
Diploma (Comp Engg)
Responsibilities
for the Position
· Prepare
test plans for the UMI design activities
·
Participate in Installation and Upgrade strategy for product deployment at
customer sites
· Ensure
that test activities are realized within approved time and quality
· Perform
scripting activities to automate the product installation/upgrade and test
activities
Qualifications
Technical
Skills/Competencies
· Good
knowledge of Test tools and System Test environment
· Experience
of working in UNIX (Linux, Solaris) environment.
· Knowledge
of common 3PP’s like oracle, java installations in Unix environment
· Good
knowledge with Shell/Python scripting
· Unix admin
and Database admin (PostGres, Oracle) knowledge would be an added advantage
Soft
Skills/Competencies
· Must have good
aptitude for Quality Assurance - Verification
· Attention
to detail and Quality systems orientation
· Good
attitude, interpersonal skills must be a team player.
Be
a self starter and able to work independently.
· Ability to
perform in a multi-tasking and team-oriented environment
